Rest and Reflection

Christmas is almost here—with a new year soon to follow! So, this will be the last PrayMore update and prayer request for 2025. This is a season for me every year (whether it’s been my favorite or least favorite year), to rest from my labors and reflect. I’d like to invite you to do the same this week, and to join me in a few brief prayers about rest and reflection.

• Father in heaven, there are many things I could have done this year, but I did not. There are several things I wish I hadn’t done, too. But I can’t unwind time, so please help me apply your grace to my life and find deep rest for my soul. Your approval is not based on my performance, but on Jesus’ perfect performance in my place. Keep me from chasing after the wind, as you warn in Ecclesiastes, but instead may I use this season to rest.
• Lord, this is a great season for reflection, too. Holy Spirit, please keep me from being a person who glances in the mirror, sees thoughts and actions that need to change, and then turns away and forgets. Help me change, so I reflect more of your character into my world next year.
• Finally, God, please give the PrayMore team a safe and happy couple of weeks as they rest and reflect, too!
