Make What People Want to Want

The following excerpt (taken from The Redemptive Business) got me amped up for our PrayMore work this week!

Many examples today “are opening our eyes to the realization that the evolving disciplines of design, technology, and financial engineering are being used to ensnare us as much as to liberate us ... Instead, we long to make what people want to want—products and services that help us see ourselves and relate to our neighbors as whole persons, rather than merely as monetizable units of desire, consumption, and metadata production.”

This is the PrayMore mission—to use mobile phone technology, not because it is addicting or can make us money, but because people want to want to pray but aren’t living as whole persons if they don’t know God and communicate with him throughout the day.

Please pray this week:

• Lord, teach us how to draw churches and people to PrayMore in a redemptive way.
• God, show us how to make the PrayMore app and web experience excellent, so we can liberate souls that are currently ensnared by phone use.
• And much bigger than just PrayMore, Holy Spirit, please make your people want to want to pray, and guide them to biblical resources that can help. Amen.
