PrayMore Blog—From the Team

A Prayer for Peace in Every Situation

Written by Nate Ayres | Apr 23, 2026 8:11:51 PM

Every Monday morning, my teams start the week with a “Super Meeting.” We check to see how everyone is doing, review reports, and plan for the week ahead. We end with a short devotion and pray for each person. It’s often the best part of my work week.

On Monday, I asked for peace and encouragement, and wisdom from the Lord, wanting to experience more of those, and the team prayed for me. Two days later, I probably couldn’t have told you what I asked for on Monday. But during my morning devotions, God answered my prayer with this prayer from 2 Thessalonians 3:16. “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” (NLT)

One of my fellow pastors at Orchard Bible Church had a great response when I shared this. He just said, “Mic drop.” That’s right. The Lord of peace wants to give you personally the peace he always has, and he wants to give you that peace every second, no matter where you are.

Let’s take hold of this incredible offer by praying right now:

  • Lord of peace, we often pray for you to change our situations so that we can have peace. Thank you for this verse that reminds us you can give us peace in every situation. We look to you, not to our circumstances.
  • God, please help the PrayMore team in all their endeavors to help us pray, so that more Christians “will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand” (Philippians 4:7a, NLT).
